First of all, can you believe that I am retyping this? Last night, I closed the window without saving the entry! @#$%&!!! Wat to do? Kuai Kuai retype lo... ~_~

Let me recall, how did I start this?
***********

Oh ya, I was saying that I had blogged about this place quite some time ago, however I had no photos to post as I went to the place way before I started Fun Hideout. Anyway, I finally gotten the "chance" to revisit the resturant all thanks to World Blood Donation Day!

Huh? World blood Donation Day => Hill Top Japanese Resturant?

Aiya, silly! Of coz not!

You see, since I have been such a devoted blood doner, I was given 2 free tickets to Jurong Bird Park aka JBP. Isnt it nice at times to be able to rekindle old memories as it must have been decade since I visit JBP.... =p

Thank You

Thank you... for all those who like my blog

Thank you x 2... for all those who like my blog & bother to leave positive comments for me

It's so heart-warming to read these comments... Well, at least it brings a smile to my face! =)

Isnt it amazing how technology drifts people apart, yet allow strangers to connect somehow?

We seldom call friends to chat since the invention of SMS, MSN etc or write cards since the invention of emails, e-cards etc

And I, couldnt share my thoughts so freely with my loved ones, yet I find words just flow magically under the tapping of my fingers so much easier.

Yet it's the same technology monster that allows me to know people from IRC, some I still keep in touch whom I will never cross my path if not for that channel...

And in a same way, I am able to feel that someone out there bothers to read what "rubbish" I've written here ( and hopefully checking back here once in a while? =p ) and appreciates it...

For that, I'm really grateful.. ^_^

Oh gosh.. I can be so emotional sometimes... keke

Tea Dot [Closed]

9:50:00 PM Unknown 0 Comments

I finally went to Tampines 1, after it was opened for "donkey years". Haha, a bit exaggerating but I just cant make myself to travel from one end to another end just for another replicated shopping centre.

It is indeed, nothing fascinating except for a couple of newbies such as Uni Qlo. But it's quite cool for the shopping centre itself do have its own blog: http://tampines1.wordpress.com/

Other than that, I think it's just another shopping centre in the list for the East residents to hang around, other than the oreadi damn crowded Tampines Mall & Century Square. Haha

Ok, side tracked. =p

After dinner at Sushi Tei ( Oh my fav reasonable priced Jap Resturant), we proceeded to our next pit-stop!

Ya man.. Drinks & Desserts!

And we ended up at Tea Dot. Well it looked strangely empty on a Sunday night though..

Love Language

9:25:00 PM Unknown 0 Comments

I read an article that talked about different Love Languages.

First of all, what's a Love Language? It simply means how one expresses their love/affection to others and how one would like to receive love/affection.

5 Broad Categories:

1) Physical Intimacy
It could be in the form of kisses, hugging or even holding hands

2) Create Quality Time Together
It means making time for your partner regardless how busy you are

3) Presents/Gifts
Expressing your love/affection through the pressies picked specially for your partner

4) Caring Actions
It could be in the form of fulfilling basic needs such as earning a salary or simple tasks like whipping a meal

5) Appreciative Words
Saying thank you

Have you ever thought that love can actually be expressed in many different forms. Most of us will show affection for people we love. But many times, we fail to recognize the correct "language". Instead, we express affection using the manner that we would like to receive affection, failing to recognize the differences in people.

For me, I ranked it in this manner, in the order of importance

1) Create Quality Time Together
2) Physical Intimacy
3) Caring Actions
4) Appreciative Words
5) Presents/Gifts

Starting from the least importance..

~*~ Presents/Gifts ~*~

Content of the pressies is not important, what it matter is the thoughts.

If you notice, most of the Love Language is not tangible. In fact, the most tangible option, one that you can touch & feel physically is Presents/Gifts. We can always take out a pressie to look at it anytime.

Through the pressies, it also reflects how well you know a person. You can tell a difference between a well-thought present & a last-minute purchased one.

Moreover, pressies bring happiness & joys to both the giver and the receiver.

But, we cant be giving/receiving pressie everyday, so I decide that Presents/Gifts got to be my last option.

~*~ Appreciative Words ~*~

Something hard to do, especially for Asian people.

Just like you dun thank your mum for cooking dinner for you or your dad for giving you pocket money.

So we dun thank your bf for holding your bag or your gf for cooking a meal.

Still, I think we should not treat all these good gestures for granted, so appreciative words at time do warm the heart.

But again, saying "Thank you" for every single things sound a bit fake, or rather too polite.

~*~ Caring Actions ~*~

Caring actions like my bf picking me up from a late dinner ( when he could have comfortably stay at home & play pc games) or even sending me home every time we go out do matter a lot to me.

Just that at this moment, the first 2 options will appear more important.

~*~ Physical Intimacy ~*~

I rate this as my 2nd priority because it is again, something more tangible as there is physical contact.

When we dun see each other every day, the physical contact when we meet up again will provide an instantaneous connection. Imagine your USB cable... it works the same way => To transmit electricity from one end to another.

I also like the feeling of being held. Sometimes I will close my eyes to walk when I'm holding on to bf, it just feel safer this way.

~*~ Create Quality Time Together ~*~

This is my top priority because again we dun see each other every day. All of us are occupied with our own work, thoughts etc

Creating quality time together not necessary means that 2 persons need to stick to each other every moments. But rather spending a certain amount of time together, which would mean making effort despite of the work load, despite of your own desire to be alone at times.

To come together and do something together, have a good laugh and a hell of good times. That's how we foster better relationship, isnt it? A relationship is eventually companionship, so it's importance that we enjoy each other company.

***********

That's my own interpretation, quite similiar with bf's but not the same. So I'm sure yours will be different from mine too!

It's like showering your gf with presents when in fact, she just wants your accompany. Or pushing your bf away when he just wants to give you a hug in the public. Coz these are just their way of showing love.

Do it the right way and making efforts for love could be much simpler!! ^_^

The ABC of Marriage

11:35:00 PM Unknown 0 Comments

I just attended a church wedding recently, which turned out to be quite "entertaining". The pastor shared a lot of stories and experiences, which I decided to share some of it here... ^_^

********

The ABC of Marriage

A for Acceptance

Before marriage, bf waited for the gf, no matter how late she was. 1 hour seemed to be only a minute passed when the couple were still blindly in love... No imperfection existed.

After marriage, the wife was late for a minute, but to the husband it seemed like eternity. To him, it felt like an hour had passed instead. Impatience, therefore, kicked in.

Similar scenario:

Before marriage, the bf held the LV bag/ Gucci bag for the gf. Nothing was impossible for the sake of the gf, even if it was at the expense of diminishing the macho image.

After marriage, the wife was asking the husband to hold the NTUC bags that contained necessities for the married couple. However, the husband asked "You dont have hands meh?"

So what has changed? We are still looking at the same set of couple, nothing has changed, only the threshold of expectation & tolerance has changed.

Our threshold to tolerate the shortcomings of our partners decrease, while the threshold of them meeting our expectations increase.

But marriage is not about changing our partners. If there is any changes to be made, it can only be ourselves. If we are able to change ourselves ( our thinkings, our expectations), everything else will change as well..

B for Be the Best for your partner

( Yes, even if it means play role Starwars character just to impress.. keke)

An Indian husband saw that his ang mo neighbour husband always kiss and hug the wife when he went to work, and back home. Indian husband was contemplating whether to do the same to his own wife. Finally, he decided to do it one day, expecting the wife to be very happy.

Alas, it turnedout otherwise. The Indian wife wailed out loudly instead.

She said: " The washing machine is spolit. The dinner is burnt and the kids are crying. And you, you came back drunk!" Shaking her head as usual...

The moral of the story? You just have to be the best for your partners always. Not only when you are lovingly dating, or in the honeymoon period. It should be a conscious decision to always be your best everyday, every time simply because you should "save" the best for your most loved ones.

You will present a good image in your workplace, be a best pal with your friends, so why shouldnt we be in our best for someone who will live and age together?

C for Commitment to Communication

One day, a son came back from school and told his father:

" Pa, I learnt something about husband & wife... Husband is like kopi, and wife is like bread"

Puzzled, the father asked why.

" Because kopi TIAM ( quiet) and bread TALK"

The couple should be committed to each other and to remain committed, they need to communicate. It shouldnt be a one way traffic, with the husband keeping quiet and the wife rattling. Each partner should have their fair chance of being the listener and the speaker.

********

So what are you waiting? Start making love now!

Heh, what are you thinking?

Humpt!!

Start making effort for your love lah!

Dun just wait & expect your love will work out alright. Love need efforts to maintain and let these efforts eventually be a habit, be sth that just come naturally =)

Giraffe Resturant & Bar [Closed]

9:39:00 PM Unknown 0 Comments

I went to Giraffe for bf's bdae dinner, since it was near SMU's settlers cafe. What I wanna stressed here is, we went there not because we thought it was really good, but simply for the reason that it was near the place we were going after dinner. Keke

Giraffe has been there ( opp PS) for quite some time, but it was my first time, & probably the last time, there. I guess probably the location is a great disadvantage, with competitors clustered at PS which is directly linked to the MRT station. Unless it is really impressive, otherwise I dun see why I should make the "extra mile" across the road...

Lazy is the word to describe me, but there are a lot of people like me! * Standing proud*

If I can get passable or better food somewhere near, why should I walk a distance for another passable food? Weird logic but very true hor... =p
