2010 Sundown Marathon

3:17:00 PM Unknown 0 Comments

Oh gosh.. I survived the run! ^_^

Well, the completion didnt come easy... Serve me right for not training!

Within the first few hundred metres, my ankle oreadi became sore with protest. The first 5km was tough as it was only the starting and my legs cant run liao.. or rather, my mental power conquered the legs. Hoho

After the first 5km, the legs followed a motorised motion, and only picked up speed when the eyes saw the hydration stations and distance boards. Well, we needed lotza motivation, dun we? I could have run faster if they had put up sign boards stating there were 70% off LV or Miu Miu down the next 5km!

The remaining 6km was even tougher, as the finishing line seemed so near yet so far. At first, I was apologising to my legs by making them going through trekking and running in such a short interval of time. Then, I was pretending to cry so that my bf can piggy back me. Next, I was cursing and swearing.

Nevertheless,  I reminded myself to remain graceful as there was photo-taking at the finishing line.. It really felt like walking down the red carpet at Star Awards as spotlights shone on you, and there were few cameras aiming at you. Luckily, I retied my hair and strolled in with big smile.. =D

And there, I finished 21Km! If I can do it, I'm sure many of you can excel in it!

Wild Honey ~ No Place Like Home

10:28:00 PM Unknown 0 Comments

I chanced upon this breakie place on someone else blog and so, decided to give it a try... =)

Breakfast place seems to be the emerging trend nowadays. Everyone starts to love breakfast and make an effort to wake up early for breakfast/brunch gathering.

Otherwise for people who tend to develop affection with their beds and pillows, especially in the morning like myself...

*cleared throat*

Fear Not! You can easily find places that sell breakfast all day, as well as places that sell only breakfast such as Wild Honey etc

I used to wish for breakfast all day as it has many variety yet it's light on the stomach and now, it's a little wish comes true.. keke

Grrr.......Bad customer service

1:23:00 PM Unknown 0 Comments

Not that I'm bias.... but I really dun like to call in a service line and be answered by a foreigner!

I have made a reservation this morning to The Cathay Resturant for lunch . Subsequently, I called again to change it to dinner instead.

This customer service lady kept asking me for my reservation number. I was like "Huh? I was NOT given any reservation number." SOooooo, I asked her was I suppose to be given a reservation number when I made my reservation through the phone. Finally, I asked her was she asking for my hp number and it ended up the "reservation number" she was referring to, was actually my hp number. WTF, cant she just ask for my hp number in the first place?

Anyway, I told her I'm changing my reservation to dinner time, and to cancel my lunch reservation. She was having such difficulties finding my lunch reservation. Therefore, I told her if she cannot find, then forget it, just make my dinner reservation. She was totally lost, and asked me whether I had made my reservation earlier on using the same name, same "reservation number" and same timing.

How can it be same timing?? One is lunch, the other is dinner? How silly she can be.

I was not even shouting at her.. Why is it so difficult to change the timing of my reservation? I spent the damn 4min on my phone, trying to change a lunch booking to a dinner one. Not to mention, I was cut off in my first attempt, and there was no return call from The Cathay.

Well, the food in The Cathay better be good as my first impression (via the phone call) was already discounted. Grrrrr....

**********

On second thought, maybe the customer service training should be fine-tune instead. I fully understand that english, even though, is a widely used language, does sound differently depending on where you come from.

Therefore, it is important to be clear and precise, such as DO NOT confuse your customer with all those terminology such as "reservation number" when simply, it is just a handphone number.

And if you cant find the earlier booking, just take down whatever information you need, such as name, timing of booking, hp number and do the search after the call. Instead, she made me wait and wait and wait... My call out is not free.

=(

*****************************************************************************

Updates!

I went to The Cathay and I think the food there is rather not bad! So stay tune for the review!

Btw, I'm SO going to Humble House again! Yeah more pictures coming up! ^_^

A Joyful Event

11:12:00 PM Unknown 2 Comments

I'm so happy!

It's only $6 more to my first cheque from Nuffnang. Hurray!

I know, I know.. the amount is definitely insignificant compared to the few Ks that famous blogger like Xiaoxue is getting from Nuffnang.

Then again, I'm still satisfied because I literally did nothing much except posting photo and write, something that I like doing. What's more, I find new "friendship" with people who bother to read what I like and what I think.

I always like to take a look at the statistics, a service provided by Nuffnang. It will show me how many readers ( unique hits) I have per day, where they come from. Yes, I even have viewers from the other side of the world like switerland, lebandon ( hmm, where is this place ar?) , chile, usa etc. It's really A.M.A.Z.I.N.G

To help me get my cheque faster, please let me have more ads! Keke ^_^

P.S Some of the ads are really helpful & informative... So help yourself (& me oso lah) by viewing them! =p

"Realization"

2:45:00 PM Unknown 0 Comments

I was surfing the web on one fine day, and I realized there are lotza of food blogs! The pictures in those blogs were as good as art works done by the professionals. It is really amazing as I believe these are done by people like you and me, coming from all walks of life, who have a passion & enthusiasm in food & photography.

My sincere apologies to all my readers!!! >.<

The fact is most of the time, I will just line up a list of pictures and let them upload in the background, while I do my own stuff like watch tv, msn. And when all the pictures are successfully saved, I will then fill in the narrations. Sometimes, I even curse and swear at Blogger, because it takes so long to upload the pictures!

There, this group of passionate bloggers, who did much more "work" in presenting the best to their readers.. Salute to all of them..

But I'm no professional, and blogging to me is just a way of communicating to many people, people I know personally, people who are just plain strangers.. and I really dun want it to become a chore.

Instead, I try to make it up by taking presentable pictures in their raw form, so that I dun need to touch up, and they can still "见人" .... Even though my photography skill is not superb, I think it is better than many people liao...Of coz, I'm still a long way to good pictures that can tell stories on their own.

Anyway, I probably not going to change my way of blogging, coz that's ME! And that's how I want my blog to be ~ No touch up, simple, and perhaps a bit of my laziness personality.. Hoho.. =p

Chocolate DeSténation

2:05:00 PM Unknown 0 Comments

Update: The place has changed to Charlie Brown. However, there is another outlet at Mandarin Gallery. I havent checked out this location yet. From what I can recall, it seems to be just an outlet selling cakes though. Will update here again if I happen to go there. Leave me a comment if you know! =)

*******

Do you know there is this alfresco dining area called The Discovery Walk at Somerset 313? Well, just go through the glass door near Marche, and there you are ~ A new hideout in the town! ^_^

It accommodates a few eateries such as Brotzeit, Souperlicious and Oricole etc. The area, although not air-conditioned, is very airy with gigantic fans. Many of the resturants there have big couches, which are great for group gatherings!

We dint eat there, but we did discovered a chocolate dessert haven here @ De Ste...
