We took a 2hr train from Zurich to Interlaken West, where our B&B resides. Personally, I think it's better to stay in Interlaken West as compared to Interlaken Ost as it's nearer to all the restaurants & tourist shops.
 
If you prefer to stay nearer to the police station, then Interlaken Ost will be a better choice. We knew because we had to 'visit' the police station to report lost of wallet. Such a spoiler when we just started our trip for 2 days only. =(

Pardon the less vibrant pictures as it was a impromptu visit to Hosted for their brunch and I did not equip myself with a real camera.

Despite that Hosted is one of my favorite restaurant, I have to begin the post with a big sigh.... =(

1) Rheinfall

Directions: Take train to Schaffhausen, followed by bus number 1 ( bus stop is just outside the train station) towards Neuhausen. Get off at "Zentrum" and  follow the brown signs down to Rheinfall. 

It took me about 1.5hr to travel from Zurich HB ( train station) to Rheinfall. It was quite a walk from the bus stop, especially so in summer, so wear comfortable shoes ( dun say I never warn you if you insist to wear heels) and be mentally prepared to walk for about 20mins.
