My first encounter with Paradise Dynasty sucks!

We arranged to go there for dinner with friends on a weekend. Btw, they dun allow reservation, so you need to go there to take queue number and wait. Yup, like seeing a doctor.

Knowing that, we were there at about 6pm. We got our queue number and just stood against the railing and chatted while waiting. Then, my fren saw our number flashing. By the time we walked over, which probably took only a few seconds, our table was given up to the next group. We were like "HUH? EXCUSE MOI?" And the funny part was, we were told that we had to queue again for the next big table. Service was definitely not impressive and obviously, we left for the next restaurant.

I know that you (meaning Paradise Dynasty) have no shortage of customers and can afford to lose some. But isnt providing good service a pride for all front-liners? Shame on you!

Oh well, we decided to give it a second chance. See, I'm so 'forgiving'! =p

Aiya, I wanted to try the colourful xiao long bao mah.

This time round, we went at about 3pm+, tea break ~ no queue!

Mixed Dumpling ( 8 pcs) $13.80

The different colour represent different fillings. My boyfriend called this "恶心小笼包" (aka disgusting dumplings). You will soon know why... Keke

Pink - Szechuan Pork Dumpling

Green - Ginseng Pork Dumpling

Yellow - Cheese Pork Dumpling*

Orange - Crab Roe Dumpling*

Black - Black Truffle Pork Dumpling

White - Normal Pork Dumpling

Light Brown - Foie Gras Dumpling*

Grey - Garlic Pork Dumpling

*The colour look almost the same on the menu, so I'm not too sure for these

For me, the taste for most were acceptable. The flavorings were not strong in the first case, so tasted almost like the normal pork dumplings. But I refused to try the Szechuan Pork Dumpling, despite it been coated in my favourite colour ~ pink, so cant comment on that particular one. My bf, on the other hand, preferred the normal pork dumplings. Hehe

That's how restaurants attract customers bah ~ come up with new dishes with fanciful display and names. But ultimately, the taste is the deciding factor for returning customers. I was not impressed by the taste, pretty normal.

Souffle & Egg White Balls stuffed with Red Beans & Banana (3 pcs) $4.50

A dessert to end our "tea break". You can find this at Imperial Treasure Nan Bei Imperial Restaurant as well. Oops..
